Westbrook Kids Outreach

What do you do when you have 30 pounds of candy and a case of popcorn...Invite your community to a movie night.

That is exactly what Westbrook did on Friday, February 28th. We invited families from Chaska, Carver, Victoria, Waconia and beyond to join us for an evening of family fun and Frozen II. The response was amazing with 140 people showing up to join us! Families with children of all ages attended and enjoyed free popcorn, candy, water, and a movie compliments of Westbrook Community Church.

The next event we had planned for the month of March was Nerf wars. We again, reached out to all our neighboring communities and received a huge response. Unfortunately, this event was canceled due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak. Fear not...Nerf Wars will return once social distancing is history.

This month we wanted to reach our kids and families to bring them a bit of light in this time of isolation and uncertainty. So, we created craft bags for each child who attends Westbrook Community Church. The craft bags were filled with fun activities and boredom buster ideas. Staff delivered these bags to the homes of our families.

We truly miss our Sunday mornings together and look forward to when we can all be together again. Until then, let’s all do what we can to stay connected and be a light during this dark time
