Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to camp we go (er, went). Mid-July, our middle and high school students ventured off to “Camp of the Master” in Ottertail, MN.
We partnered with a local church called Valley Evangelical Free Church for some good ol’ fashioned Christian camp fun. Campfires were had, s’mores were eaten, water games were played, and songs were sung (kumbaya, anyone?). More importantly, our students learned about God’s dream for their lives and how rich that is in comparison to the world’s calling. What’s more, they left with new found friendships with our partner church’s youth group.
One student even remarked, “Hey, we should really do more activities with that church.” To me, that’s a win, because our students found out that the body of Christ is more present in Chaska if we stand together as believers rather than alone.
